The puzzle game is Elevata’s version of Hitori, an addictive logic game similar to Sudoku. While not the first Hitori game in the Apple iTunes store, it provides a richer gaming experience via a sophisticated puzzle generator that creates a unique game each time it is played, as opposed to other versions of Hitori for iPhone that generate new puzzles based on (predictable) patterns.

iHitori also features:

Game Control: choose your puzzle size and number of tiles to control the level of difficulty.

Elegant, attractive Asian-themed graphics:
soothing and easy on the eyes.

Multi-lingual: available in English, French, Spanish, Italian and German.

Game support: online forum to connect with other users, get your questions answered and submit feedback to the developers.

User-friendly interface: easy to learn the Hitori game rules so that you can quickly start playing.

iHitori is the first iPhone application that has been submitted and approved by Apple; other iPhone applications are currently in development.

Elevata Incorporated Press Releases: Nov 6, 2008 http://www.elevatainc.com/press.html 2008-11-06T00:00:00Z three Silver International Davey Awards for their notable redesign of Mohr, Davidow Ventures B2B Web site, mdv.com.

“We continue to maintain our belief that the right kind of Flash implementation on a Web site can really enhance the user experience”, says Rachel Cary, the firm’s Creative Director. “Particularly in the Financial Services category — an area in which we specialize — Web sites have a tendency to look extremely ‘cookie-cutter’ and it’s very difficult for some of these companies to differentiate, especially as some of them need to be very careful about ‘marketing speak’ on their Web site. The use of Flash in a Web site design can address these issues, and sometimes very successfully. We don’t recommend Flash design on all of our client?s Web sites, but sometimes it’s just what’s needed to take a site from ‘been there, done that’ to ‘wow, show me more!?’

The MDV Web site won Silver in three categories for this design competition: Financial Services, Home Page and Animation Design.

“We are extremely proud to have represented one of our top clients, Mohr, Davidow Ventures, in this international competition. They continue to receive very positive feedback on their site, and it still feels fresh after almost two years. We are grateful for the opportunity MDV gave us to do work that was a little ‘out of the box’, especially for the venture capital world.”

Elevata Incorporated Press Releases: Jun 26, 2008 http://www.elevatainc.com/press.html 2008-06-26T00:00:00Z
“Flash is seen as eye-candy or fluff — technology thats best used on a rapper‘s Web site”, says Rachel Cary, Creative Director of Elevata. “That‘s the common perception — but it‘s a misconception. Flash itself is not bad; it‘s the misuse of Flash that is bad, and which has contributed to its tainted reputation, especially in the business world. As the MDV site proves however, when used well, Flash can take a Web site to the next level.”

“The MDV site was launched in April of 2007 and we continue to receive accolades, compliments and inquiries as to the site‘s design firm from MDV‘s investors and portfolio companies — as does our client, Pamela Mahoney, Director of Marketing at MDV. Some clients have emailed Pamela telling her that it‘s the ‘best VC site they‘ve ever seen’. Needless to say, we’re always thrilled when the work we do for our clients gets that kind of feedback. That’s when we know we’ve really done our job well.”

“Using Flash on the Home page of a venture capital site was not something I expected MDV to buy into”, says Ms. Cary. “From a branding perspective, I was thrilled to see them put a stake in the ground and differentiate themselves that decisively, and support the site concept with the Flash technology. In the sea of ‘me too’ venture capital web sites in Silicon Valley, MDV really stands out.”

“One of the most interesting features of the site, other than its use of Flash, is the Content Management System (CMS) that is running behind the site.”, says Patrice Borne, Chief Technology Officer of Elevata. “Our client, Pamela Mahoney needs to update MDV‘s web site regularly and wanted a tool that would hide the technical details behind a user interface. The CMS we built for MDV is saving her a lot of time and technical headaches and she can focus on the content instead of wasting her time editing HTML pages. This CMS is custom built to match the structure of MDV‘s web site which makes it very easy to use.”

Elevata Incorporated Press Releases: Jun 25, 2008 http://www.elevatainc.com/press.html 2008-06-25T00:00:00Z
?We hesitated between building a Flash or HTML site for quite some time before finally deciding on AJAX which does not require end users to have the Flash plugin?, says the firm?s Creative Director, Rachel Cary. ?Flash is a fantastic tool and when properly used can really add to a site ? but a lot of people really hate it. You have to be pretty sure your end users are open to Flash before building a site entirely, or even partially, in Flash. We decided to take a safer route for now ? but we may eventually build an all Flash site.?

?Since we need to update our site regularly, we decided to build our own Content Management System (CMS) to store the content of our web pages?, says the firm?s Chief Technolgy Officer, Patrice Borne. ?This way, anybody in the firm that has access to the password protected CMS can add content even if they are not technical experts. The CMS saves us a lot of time and greatly reduces the risk of breaking pages.?

?We are very happy to finally have a Web presence that shows what we can do. Some of our clients have been waiting to see this site for quite some time, and it was frustrating to use the old ?cobbler?s child? line over and over again. As much as we didn?t want to, we had to put our own marketing on the back burner and focus on our client?s projects. Now that it?s live, we already have new ideas about how we?ll improve it. And because the backbone of the site was built using a CMS, updating the graphics when we?re ready won?t be the headache that it can be.?

Earlier this year (April 2008), Elevata won a Silver Addy at both the local and district Addy Awards for the design of Mohr, Davidow Venture?s B2B Web site (www.mdv.com), noted for its attractive and judicious use of Flash.

Elevata is well known in the Bay Area for providing exceptionally high quality work and is currently developing their proprietary InsideOut Branding? and BestSite? corporate seminars which they hope to offer in the fourth quarter of 2008.
